In September 2021, my husband and I tied the knot in New Buffalo, Michigan, surrounded by 80 of our family and friends. Our wedding venue was a breathtaking Airbnb estate nestled amidst lush greenery, featuring three separate homes, an expansive lawn, basketball/tennis courts, and a pool. We held our entire wedding weekend on the property, including the welcome dinner, ceremony, reception, and morning-after breakfast.

Invitation Suite
I took charge of designing the invitation suite and all paper goods, with my Silhouette die-cutting machine handling the cutting and my husband, Mike, assisting with the folding. My primary goal was to accurately represent the unique wedding venue in the design. The angular cuts mirror the modern angles of the homes on the property, while the chosen colors emphasize the white buildings, brown wood accents, green trees, and blue sky and pool.

Given the intricate weekend schedule, I aimed for a layered invitation design that was both architecturally appealing and easy to navigate. This involved crafting the official invitation, schedule, and map to ensure a cohesive look. Each sheet is shorter than the one in front, so when layered and paperclipped together, no information is overlooked.

I also created over 100 field guides for guests, which were mailed with the invitations and handed out during the wedding. These guides contained our personal recommendations for local wineries, breweries, restaurants, and farmers' markets. To add a touch of elegance, each field guide was gold foiled by hand on the front.

Additional Paper Goods
The ceremony program and menus were designed with angled cuts to match the rest of the suite.

As avid fans of the National Park System, Mike and I decided to name our tables after our favorite National Parks that we had visited together, adding a personal touch to our special day. Each table card featured my travel photography from the respective park, along with information about its location and the date of our visit. The seating chart, printed on paper to match our invitations, was divided into separate hanging sheets. ❤️
